During the 2nd quarter, there was one (1) exceedance
at Outfall 014. A summary of the exceedance is provided below.
1. Exceedance of "pH DAILY MAX" at Outfall 014.
a. Outfall 014A receives stormwater runoff from a small compacted gravel area with a few
buildings and no exterior activity. It also receives runoff from cut slopes and vegetated
areas. All BMPs were in place. Two pH samples were taken in May, one of which
exceeded by 0.2 su. Only one sample per month is required by the permit. As stated
in prior communications with the state, the field pH has historically been high, and
MCC is unsure what may have caused this slight increased pH event. MCC
continues to investigate the issue and may pursue an increase in the permit limit.
Should you or your staff have questions or need additional information concerning these Discharge
Monitoring Reports, please contact me at (970) 929 -2308.
Ryan Sbetwood
Environmental Engineer
Enclosures: NPDES Forms (DMRs) Second Quarter 2011.
cc: D.
