DCF was placed in the <br />area show on Figure 6. The DCF was hauled from the processing area to the placement area <br />using CAT 740 haul trucks. The DCF was placed in a 2 -foot lift using a CAT D -6 LGP dozer <br />except where haul routes were established. Haul route consisted of five -foot lifts to be spread <br />into 2 -foot lifts later. Laborers were present at all times during placement holding the high <br />volume collection piping in place, removing debris /sandbags, and assisting the dozer operator <br />with lift thickness. All DCF was placed on previously approved primary geomembrane. AMEC <br />field representatives monitored the DCF placement constantly. <br />DCF was also placed over previously placed DCF constructing a 5 -foot road to access the <br />south toe berm. This was performed using a CAT D -6 LGP dozer. <br />II) Storm Water Management <br />A) Best Management Practices <br />Best Management Practices are being observed throughout the VLF Phase 5 Project. <br />III) Material Processing <br />A) Drain Cover Fill Process Area <br />Drain Cover Fill (DCF) was processed during the week. <br />IV) VLF Geosynthetics <br />A) Geomembrane Installation <br />1) VLF <br />Geomembrane installation within the Phase 5 VLF continued performing deployment, <br />seaming, and repair /QC activities. Geomembrane installation was performed in the area shown <br />on Figure 3. Approximately 237,803 square feet of primary 100mil LLDPE was deployed <br />using a John Deere 200 excavator and a John Deere 544 front -end loader with spreader -bar <br />attachments. Subgrade was inspected and approved by AMEC and Lone Star representatives <br />prior to geomembrane deployment (see Figure 3). Approximately 11,964 linear feet of seam <br />was fusion welded using up to two fusion welding machines. Twenty -five destructive test <br />samples were marked during fusion seaming. All destructive tests performed were within <br />project specifications. Non - destructive testing was performed for fusion welded seams. Repairs <br />were performed using the extrusion welding method for all marked defects. Vacuum testing <br />was performed for all extrusion welded seams and repairs. <br />B) Anchor Trench <br />1) VLF <br />Anchor trench backfill was performed between stations C3 +00 ( + / -) and C7 +50 (excluding the <br />low volume riser boots) and between stations G23 +00 ( + / -) and G30 +00 ( + / -) using a John <br />Deere 35D excavator and laborers. An AMEC representative observed and inspected the <br />VLF Weekly Report WE 09.25.10.D <br />
