Binns, Janet
From: Linda Saunders [saunders615 @live.com]
Sent: Friday, July 22, 2011 11:44 AM
To: Binns, Janet
Subject: Vento Revegetation -5 areas ?Grasse Mix andShrubs
1
RECEIVED
JUL 2 2 2011
Division tut kind •
Mining and fatty
Janet,
Thank you for the information on the rabbitbrush (and it does state that it is sometimes toxic to cattle).
The reveg analysis refers to the 5 reveg areas on the Vento property. What are the 5 reveg areas?
I do need to know what the final seed mix that EF used for grasses and shrubs, and PSL/acre.
I thought they got the seed mix recommendation and followed the one from the Fremont County Soil Conservation
District which had Intermediate and Crested Wheatgrass in it. What was the Divisions recommendation?
The fact that there is only one species of grass in any reasonable percentage Western Wheatgrass 33% and no warm
season grasses concerns me.
I am glad the Crested Wheatgrass and Intermediate Wheatgrass were not planted if the are invasive and were
eliminated by the Division in the seed mix for our property.
Are rabbit brush and sagebrush allowed in the stem count and cover % when they are also very invasive and cannot be
grazed by cattle .
These two shrubs contribute the 20% cover that is required.
When will the current Woodland Reference Area be surveyed or has it been done and not reported?
Is that why EF wants to change the Reference Area?
Linda
