Keffelew <br />Environmental Protection Specialist /�' <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety 7 V <br />Department of Natural Resources <br />1313 Sherman Street, Rm. 215 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br />Re: GCC Rio Grande, Inc., Red Rock Plant and Limestone Mine (Permit No. M- 2002 -004) (CHS <br />#38265) <br />Dear Mr. Keffelew: <br />Thank you for your correspondence dated July 7, 2011 (received by our office on July 12, 2011) <br />regarding the subject project. <br />A search of the Colorado Cultural Resource Inventory database indicates that several cultural resource <br />inventories have been conducted within or near the proposed permit area including a 564 -acre survcv <br />for GCC Rio Grande, Inc. by Greystone Environmental in 2002.'Ilus survey identified Site 5PE4236, <br />a historic lime processing center, which was determined eligible for the National Register of Historic <br />Places (NRHP). We recommend that the operator avoid this site or that additional inventors be <br />conducted to determine the effect of the proposed project on this resource.
