July 19, 2010
Park County Planning Commission
CIO Tom Eisenman, Director
Development Services
P.O. Box 1598
Fairplay, Co 80440
Dear Board Members:
GEGE DEVELOPMENT CONSULTING, LLC
DAVID B. WISSEL
P.O. BOX 222
FAIRPLAY, CO 80440
I am representing Allen Drilling and Excavating, as his agent, in this request for a
Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for a Temporary Asphalt Plant. The subject
property is located south and east of Fairplay. This parcel contains 59.5 acres.
The property address is 44560 State Highway 9. It is tax schedule # 46033.
This site is suitable for this type of operation because of similar use that is now
in proximity to an adjoining property. The property located to the North West
belongs to Park County and has historically been used as a sand and gravel
operation. Although at one time this Park County parcel was also used to house
a temporary asphalt plant. Other such historic mining and related activities are in
close proximity to the subject property.
The subject property is zoned as Mining. Mr. Allen is looking for a favorable CUP
decision in order to better utilize the property on as needed basis when the
opportunity should arise.
We have complied with, and supplied within this application all requested items
as stated on the Conditional Application Permit and per Lillian's s discussions
with staff and also Tom Eisenman.
Thank you for your consideration of the CUP application. I look forward to
meeting with you, and further discussing this application.
Since ly,
I
IS wt.
David B. Wiss
Consultant
