AB Environmental Consulting,
P.O. Box 680
Fairplay, CO 80440
719 - 839 -1818
RE: Wetland Delineation flagged on August 1, 2005
Applicant: Jack Allen
Legal: SE '/4, SW 1/4, Section 11, Ti OS, R77W
Site Location: The site is located south of Fairplay on Highway 9. Take hwy
9 toward Hartsel. The site is located on the north side of Hwy 9 just past
the Park County Gravel operation.
Site: This -32.2 acre site is at an approximate elevation of 9,658 feet. The
properly is bordered by a gravel pit and agriculture. This lite consists of a
meadow type wetland.
Delineation: I visited the above site on August 1, 2005. I found
jurisdictional wetland's on the site. This wetland has high quality plant
diversity. The plants are all herbaceous. The wetland was delineated
within the guidelines of the Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation
Manual (1987). The wetland was identified with orange flagging marked
wetland boundary. I have attached a site drawing with the wetland
boundary based upon physical measurements taken in the field.
Soils: Soil hue, value and chroma were compared to the Munsell Soil
Color Charts to determine presence of hydric soils. Soils were tested to an
average depth of 10 inches, using a narrow shovel. The soils in the
wetland are hydric. The soils were saturated to within 3 inches of the
surface with up to 12 inches of standing water in places.
Vegetation: The Cast below is broken up into the dominant species for each
wetland type.
Scientific Name Common Name
Meadow
Juncus drummondia Drummond's Rush
Deschampsia Cespitosa Tufted hair grass
Hordeum jubatum Foxtail barley
Carex scopulorum Rocky Mnt Sedge
Indicator Stotts
FdcW*
FacW
Fac*
•FacW
