1 . No critical habitat is located on or near the project area. <br /> 2. There are no wildlife migration routes on the permit area which would require special <br /> fencing. <br /> 3. The revegetation seed mixtures for the drainage courses were designed to specifically <br /> maximize the growth potential of the moist areas. <br /> 4. There have been no toxic water problems at the Nucla Mine. <br /> 5. Pesticides will only be used in accordance with County restrictions and the Colorado <br /> Pesticide Act. <br /> G. Fire control will be exercised for range, forest and coal fires which are not <br /> approved by the regulatory authority as a part of a management plan. <br /> 7. The Planting Plan (Exhibit 13-1a) optimizes the diversity of plantings within and <br /> around the pasture land to enhance wildlife habitat. Wetland plantings along <br /> drainages will reestablish existing wetland areas. <br /> 8. Power transmission facilities on the permit site will be designed and constructed to <br /> minimize electrocution hazards to raptors. <br /> Fish and Wildlife Plan - Nucla East Area <br /> Introduction <br /> The Fish and Wildlife Plan presented below is based on baseline information presented in <br /> Tab 11 "Wildlife", Addendum 11-2, and the various regulatory requirements of the approved <br /> Colorado Regulatory Program for surface mining. The plan is designed to minimize or <br /> mitigate mining impacts to the wildlife populations of the area and provide where <br /> practicable the enhancement of habitat and other resources. <br /> The premining land use (Tab 4 "Land Use") and proposed postmining land use (Tab 22 <br /> "Revegetation Plan") is agriculture. Wildlife use of the permit occurrs simultaneously <br /> with agricultural activities, though no specific habitat has been enhanced for their <br /> 23-4 Revised 04/11/88 <br />
