In 2008 it was 1656.1 lb /ac. With an Animal Unit Month <br />forage requirement of 800 lb (oven -dry) for cattle and a reference area size of 6.8 ac, Animal <br />Unit Months of forage available in the reference area are derived in the table below: <br />* Up to 80% of maximum standing crop production may be utilized in certain irrigated <br />pasture management systems (USDA 2003), see below. <br />With five cattle in the reference area over the period of July, August, and September fifteen (15) <br />AUM's of forage were consumed. In 2007, available forage exceeded that used by the five <br />cattle. Thus in 2007, management was well within prudent limits for this resource. <br />100058185.1 1 <br />
