Topsoil salvage and replacement were not included in the reclamation plan for these
pre-law areas. Period 2 includes existing post-law (July 1, 1976) disturbance areas at
Nucla Mine which fall under Permit 75-36. Disturbance categories include the NPDES sites
associated with Mine Areas 2 and 3 (see Exhibit 12-2, Operations Plan). Minimal topsoil
salvage occurred during previous mining activities in Mine Areas 2 and 3. Four to eight
inches of topsoil was replaced in Mine Areas 2 and 3 as approved by CMLRD under Permit
75-36.
Period 3 includes existing post-Colorado law (July 1, 1976) disturbance areas at Nucla
Mine which fall under Permit C-81-008. Disturbance categories include ahead-of-mining
•
21-10a Revised 08/19/88
