The Division received the packet containing the application materials pertaining to the Notice of Intent (NOI) named
above on July 6, 2011, and the non - confidential contents of it will be posted on the Division's website.
The Division is reviewing the NOI for deficiencies that must be corrected or additionally provided, and several items
were noted that require response from you. Please provide the responses needed for all items that are listed in the
following paragraphs.
1. The evidence of notification to the BLM office was not included in your NOI submittal. Please provide the
proof of notification.
2. The acreage of the area to be disturbed does not appear to include the surfaces impacted by overland travel,
though your reclamation plan does state that those areas will be scarified if needed and then seeded. Please
revise the total acreage figure to include the area of overland travel.
3. The species and seeding rates shown in the BLM- approved seed mix are appropriate for this area. However,
the footnote below the seed mix contains an error. It should read, "* This reflects the drilled seeding rate of
40 PLS per square foot, it needs to be doubled if broadcast." Please comment.
4. The option to use straw mulch was left open- ended. Please state whether mulch will be used during
reclamation.
5. No bond was submitted with this NOI, which is a deficiency, but the Division will calculate a bond amount
for this NOI during the review period and notify you as to the amount.
This office will coordinate its review with the Dolores office of the BLM. Please forward to me any pertinent
correspondence received from BLM. I will contact you if I find additional items during the review that need
responses.
