The Operator did not attend the inspection. The site is located
about nine miles east of Hartsel, and immediately east of the Chaparral Meadows General Store alongside
County Road 92. The commodity of interest is sand and gravel. The total permit area is 4.0 acres, and the
post- mining land use is described as rangeland. No bond is held as the operator is a government entity.
The site is not ready for release. As shown on the attached photographs, revegetation has not been
established to the standards required under §34- 32.5- 116(4)(f) C.R.S. and Construction Materials Rule
3.1.10(1), which state "In those areas where revegetation is part of the reclamation plan, land shall be
revegetated in such a way as to establish a diverse, effective, and long- lasting vegetative cover that is capable
of self- regeneration without continued dependence on irrigation, soil amendments or fertilizer, and is at least
equal in extent of cover to the natural vegetation of the surrounding area."
Before the Division can release the site, the operator must establish revegetation in accordance with the
standards of §34- 32.5- 116(4)(f) C.R.S. and Construction Materials Rule,3.1.10(1).
