We were discussing weed control efforts and potential bond
release at Edna. Lori was comfortable with the plan to continue weed control and monitoring this year before pursuing
bond release. She did express concern with the "terraced pre -law area where there was no topsoil." She
noted houndstongue and thistle in the area and asked if we could do anything to address it so these do not continue to
spread. I did explain that we cannot hold pre -law areas to our program standards. We discussed the only possible action
to take which would be to bring this up with Chevron and suggest that it would be in their best interest to control weed
sources adjacent to the areas they are responsible for, and it would indicate they are "good neighbors" to interested
landowners.
Of course this is outside the scope of what would be required for bond release. I was trying to be proactive and raise
any NRCS issues before the 11th hour! So, if you see fit, could you please mention this to Chevron?
Thank you,
Christine
2
