OBSERVATIONS
PERMIT #: M -1992 -060
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: RCO
INSPECTION DATE: June 23, 2011
This was routine inspection performed by the Division as part of its monitoring of Construction Materials 110c
permits. The site was not active at the time of the inspection. The site was identified by the required permit
ID sign posted at the entrance gate, which was locked at the time of the inspection. Access to the site for the
inspection was gained on foot.
Availability Of Records:
Annual reports are filed each year, and from those reports it appears that nothing has occurred at all for many
years. It is not clear if more reclamation work is intended, since the operator makes no notations about
planned work. If there is more reclamation work to do, such as further backfilling or more revegetation it
should be noted in the reports. Alternatively, the operator should note in the reports whether backfilling is
actually completed. At this time this is not a problem.
Backfilling and Grading:
Assuming that backfilling and grading are complete, the site appears stable and level and fairly clean. The
operator must continue to ensure that no trash or contaminants are imported to the site as backfill.
Hydrologic Balance:
There is surface water on the site in the form of a creek, which is approved in the permit.
Reclamation Success:
Backfilling has produced a firm, level site. No further grading is needed at this time. Portions of the site
exhibit adequate vegetation, though there are significant bare spots too.
For questions about this report, please contact this inspector at the Division's Durango field office:
DRMS Durango Field Office
691 CR 233, Room A -2
Durango, CO 81301
Tel: 970 - 247 -5193
