The anchor trench was backfilled using a John Deere 35D excavator, a CAT skid steer
loader, and laborers. Structural fill (Ore) was moisture conditioned using a tandem axle water
truck and placed in the trench in one -foot compacted lifts. Compaction was performed using a
vibratory plate compactor.
CQA ACTIVITIES:
Anchor trench excavation continued between stations E21 +50 ( + / -) and E23 +50 ( + / -) using a
John Deere 35D excavator. The anchor trench was inspected by an AMEC field representative
and was found to be constructed in accordance to the project design and specifications.
SUMMARY:
The CQA activities performed consisted of observing, documenting and recording the construction
activities of the contractor.
AMEC inspected and approved subgrade prior to SLF placement within the Phase 5 VLF.
AMEC observed, performed necessary testing, obtained moisture samples, and assisted in the placement
and moisture conditioning of SLF material within the Phase 5 VLF.
