Blue Mountain Energy, Inc. has submitted an <br />application for Technical Revision 68 for the Deserado Mine. The Technical Revision is <br />for the installation of a dewatering system for the B -Seam workings. The proposal in- <br />cludes pumping water to the surface through an existing service hole, allowing'the water <br />to pass through a series of treatment ponds and discharging the water into a natural <br />drainage. The proposed dewatering system is along the mine's access road to the train <br />loadout. This revision includes an additional 3.47 acres of disturbed and affected land. <br />There will be an increase in the Deserado Mine's reclamation liability as a result of this <br />revision. <br />The Deserado Mine is a/an Underground coal mine located in Rio Blanco County, approx- <br />imately 7 miles NE of Rangely, Colorado. Coal interest is Federal, and the surface affect- <br />ed is Federal and private land. The permit area encompasses approximately 11,788.71 <br />acres. <br />This proposed decision is based on a finding that the proposed operation will comply <br />with all requirements of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act, Section 34- <br />33 -101, of seq., G.R.S., and regulations promulgated thereunder. <br />Copies of the proposed decision, including stipulations, are on file for public inspection <br />at the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Room 215, Centennial Buil- <br />ding, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203. Persons wjth an interest that may <br />be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request a formal hearing before the <br />Mined Land Reclamation Board on the proposed decision.
