Since we are mining terrace gravel deposits that are well above the river and valley
alluvium, we do not anticipate encountering groundwater during our mining operations at the site.
The site is located in an arid region on a hill slope that receives only 8 inch of precipitation a year. We
anticipate that runoff from sufficient rains rarely occurs at the site. Our storm water management plan
(SWMP) states that we must prevent off -site discharge during rain events to prevent sediment from
entering the Gunnison River. In the event of a major rain, water will be contained allowing sediment to
settle and then discharge prior to 72 hours.
