PERMIT #: M -1977 -129
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: THM
INSPECTION DATE: June 2, 2011
water to the existing or natural water level is delaying the reclamation success and negating the efforts for final
reclamation put in by Whitewater. Overall the slopes appear to be stable and the revegetation efforts have been
successful where it has not been disturbed by the fluctuating water level. Therefore, the fluctuating water level
and inlet maintenance are the main reasons the site is not considered to have complete reclamation. Without
disturbance of the water level the site could possibly be in a releasable form in one to two more growing
seasons.
This inspection was focused primarily on the reclamation release request and other components of the mining
operation were not formally addressed during the inspection.
Photos that show the conditions observed during the June 2, 2011 inspection are included at the end of this
report.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Travis Marshall at the Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado
81501, phone no. 970 - 241.2042.
Inspection Contact Address
Mark Gardner
Whitewater Building Materials
940 S. 10th St.
Grand Junction, CO 81502
cc: Dale Brandon
833 26 Road
Grand junction, CO 81506
James McCurter
McCurter Land and Development Company
P.O.
