Corey Heaps
CAM Colorado LLC
June 21, 2011
Page 8
the majority of the site. There will be two new ponds as shown on Map -16, and CAM
will not expose groundwater, nor will long term storage of stormwater runoff be of
concern as the pond will be dewatered as outlined in section 2.05.3(4). The ponds will be
dewatered once the water level is above the maximum sediment level, and /or 48 hours
after a precipitation event. The well permit applications have been submitted to the SEO.
Division Response: CAM's response was forwarded to the SEO for their review and we
are waiting to see if they have any farther comment. The Division believes that CAM's
response was appropriate and adequate. Please incorporate the SEO well permit
applications and the approved well permits when they are obtained into an
appropriate section of the PAP.
8. Water Rights locations are shown on Map 18. In accordance with Rule 2.04.7(1)(b)
please also provide well locations and reported yields from all wells within the proposed
permit and adjacent areas which are registered with the Office of the State Engineer.
This requirement was not addressed in the application.
CAM Response: Well locations were shown on Map -18, but for clarity, a different
symbol and color was given to wells within the permit and adjacent areas, please see
revised Map -18. Wells with a yield that are registered with the SEO are now shown on
pages 2.04 -23 to 2.04 -26.
Division Response: Response accepted.
9. For clarification of the well completion information provided, please revise the last
sentence of the 4 t1 ' paragraph on page 2.04 -14 as follows. "A typical completion diagram
along with a summary table of specific completion information for each monitoring well
is located in Volume I, Exhibit 3. The As -Built Drawings from 1981 when the wells
were drilled and completed are provided in Volume 1, Exhibit 14, Appendix A."
CAM Response: Please see revised pages 2.04 -14 to 2.04 -16.
Division Response: Response accepted.
10. Ground surface elevation information for the monitoring wells does not appear to be
consistent between the summary table information on the typical diagram in Exhibit 3 as
compared with the As -Built Drawings for the well completions provided in Exhibit 14.
Have the wells been re- surveyed by CAM? If so, were the ground surface and top of
casing elevations surveyed? Please expand the well completion summary table on the
typical diagram to include the following: ground surface elevation, top of casing or
measuring point elevation, and perforated interval depth.
CAM Response: CAM generated their topography, based on aerial photography from
May of 2010 and believes -it to be accurate.
