COMMENTS
This was a complete inspection conducted by Tom Kaldenbach of DRMS. The operator was represented by
Kathy Welt during the in-office records check and by Ryan Sweetwood during the field inspection.
Selected photographs taken during the inspection are attached to the end of this report. With the operator's
consent,this report was issued from the Denver office of DRMS.
The longwall face was advancing west near the west end of panel E-2. Development mining was progressing in E-
4 gateroad. The ground was dry throughout the site.
AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION—Rule 4.17:
A water truck was spraying roads in the Main Surface Facilities Area. There were no fugitive dust
problems.
AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS—Rule 5.02.4(1):
All required records were available in the mine office(see attached records check list). The well-
organized manner in which the operator maintains the records is commendable.

The inslopes of pond SG-1 (outfall 014)appeared in good condition and the pond was not discharging.
The concrete sediment trap MB-4 at the train loadout(outfall 008)was in good shape, and was not discharging.
Construction was completed in 2010 on the following structures that were approved in TR-119: new pond MB-
5E, a 48-inch diameter HDPE pipe that was buried and feeds runoff to pond MB-5E, a bridge across the North
