June 9, 2011 C-1981-018/Deserado Mine JRS <br /> TOPSOIL(cont.)-Topsoil Pile RP-5a had good perennial cover but there was a fair amount of cheatgrass <br /> interspersed and in patches on the pile. There was also a fair amount a tumble mustard on the pile. The perennial <br /> grasses included western wheatgrass, with strips of crested wheatgrass and Russian wildrye(which were mostly on <br /> the eastern edge of the pile). The topsoil material will be reverse-sequenced and used as subsoil for the <br /> reclamation of the refuse piles. There was a topsoil sign in place on the pile. <br /> -Topsoil Pile RP-4 has a large amount of cheatgrass on the outslopes. There were more perennials grasses on the <br /> top of the pile.
