(d) The Water Monitoring Plan will include a sampling location in
the East Interceptor downstream of the McNulty OSF and upstream of
Clinton Reservoir. The Water Monitoring Plan will specify the frequency of
sample collection, field and laboratory analysis parameters, and criteria for
identifying changes and conditions that could adversely impact water quality
in Clinton Reservoir.
2. Content of the Environmental Protection Plan
Regarding content of the revised EPP to be submitted for review and approval
in a separate future proceeding, the EPP will address at a minimum:
(a) Clinton Gulch watershed:
i. Climax will utilize Best Management Practices (BMPs) for
blasting activities to prevent water quality impacts from flyrock
entering the Clinton Gulch watershed.
ii. The Bartlett Mountain Road will be designed to direct runoff
from the road and associated fill slopes toward the McNulty
Gulch and the Open Pit.
iii. Stormwater Management Plan BMPs will be implemented to
prevent water quality impacts to the Clinton Gulch watershed
from erosion and sediment that may be associated with road
construction and pit development activities near the summit of
Bartlett Mountain.
iv. Collection facilities will be installed to prevent impacted
drainage from the McNulty OSF from entering the East
Interceptor Ditch.
V. Climax will provide a calculation of the tributary area to the
East Interceptor Ditch prior to alteration of the East Interceptor
Ditch, and will provide an estimate of the modified East
Interceptor drainage area.
(b) Robinson Lake operations:
i. An Operating Plan, to be included in the EPP, will be
established for Robinson Lake Reservoir to prevent overflow
through the spillway under the conditions described in
subsection (ii) below.
Climax Molybdenum Company
Climax Mine, M-1977-493
Permit Amendment Application AM-06
4
