E. Equipment and Vehicles.
List does not include a core-drilling rig. What kind, skid, truck mount? What are the road
requirements?
Response:
We do not propose to use a core-drilling rig for this exploration project. We propose to use a
truck mounted Reverse Circulation drilling rig. The access requirements are as indicated in the
operation plan (Exhibit D).
G. Road Construction
1. Clarify "no new road construction" in light of questions on Project Description. Pad size, size/need
for sumps, amount of dozer work, and water bar construction and placement to be determined upon
clarification of Project Description and input from ID Team.
Response:
The Operation Plan indicates the location of the dirt roads that will be used for access during the
drilling operation.
V. Environmental Protection Measures
Although your comments are appreciated, once we have a complete proposed plan, reasonable measures
for environmental protection will be determined through an environmental analysis. Reasonable mitigation
measures will be added to the reclamation plan and bonded accordingly. Note that if the company asserts a
need to use any existing areas where the surface has been disturbed (e.g., `uncontoured' roads old
trenches mine dumps etc) then the operator becomes responsible for compfete reclamation and
recontouring in accordance with provisions in the reclamation plan and environmental analysis.
Response:
We understand this is the case and have offered suggested mitigation measures only to assist in
the managing of this project. It is understood that the USFS may require additional specific
mitigation measures.
A.-L. Mitigation measures or notification measures will be developed in the environmental analysis.
Response:
We understand that the mitigation measures or notification measures will be developed in the
environmental analysis of this project.
VI. Forest Service Evaluation of Plan of Operations Bonds calculated by DRMS will be reviewed by the Forest
Service and that amount, along with any required amounts over that calculated by DRMS, must be
provided prior to plan approval by the Forest service.
4
