Chief Drainage Channel Reclamation Work Plan <br />Little Deadwood Gulch <br />Chief Drainage Channel Reclamation Work Plan <br />Little Deadwood Gulch <br />1.0 Introduction <br />The following report represents the proposed Little Deadwood Gulch mine disturbed drainage <br />channel reclamation plan. Little Deadwood Gulch is located in La Plata County approximately <br />15 miles west of Durango and approximately 3 miles northwest of Hesperus, Colorado. The <br />project site is accessed using CR-124 and a private and USFS-San Juan Forest District easement <br />to the May Day Idaho Mine complex mine site. <br />2.0 Background <br />The proposed reclamation activity is located in a historical mining district currently referred to as <br />the May Day and Idaho Mine Complex permit mine CN-1 ID # M-1981-185. Historical mining <br />activities (pre-1926) constructed the Chief portal and disposed run of mine rock in the Little <br />Deadwood Gulch drainage channel (See figure 1). A portion of this drainage channel was <br />disturbed in 2009 and will be reclaimed under this scope of work. The area to be reclaimed is <br />referred to as the Chief Portal which is associated with the Lamb mine area which is located on <br />an ephemeral stream segment of the Little Deadwood Gulch a tributary to the La Plata River. <br />Proposed Work Plan <br />Management <br />• Obtain work plan approval from the CMLRB and CDRMS <br />• Coordinate schedules with DRMS to offer DRMS the opportunity to oversee construction <br />work activities <br />• Conduct field worker safety awareness meeting prior to daily work activities <br />• Identify permit boundaries with flagging tape <br />• Identify work area with flagging tape <br />Communication- Reporting <br />• Prior to work activity, obtain project site photographs <br />• Document daily work activities such as <br />o Site housekeeping. <br />o Summarize the amount and type of material moved <br />o If necessary, obtain DRMS personnel signatures on daily work sheets <br />• Submit "as-built" channel and reclamation drawings within 30 days channel reclamation. <br />3 <br /> <br />Revised 6.6.2011 <br />
