TRAUTNERC ff1Y14 L
GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING, MATERIAL TESTING
AND ENGINEERING GEOLOGY
June 2, 2011
Mr. Steve Fearn, PE
Colorado Goldfields, Inc.
PO Box 790
Silverton, Colorado 81420
PN: 11076P
Subject: Proposal for a Geotechnical Engineering Boring for
The Proposed Kittimac Repository Site
Silverton, Colorado
Mr. Fearn,
This letter presents our proposal to advance one (1) test boring to a depth of 60 feet at the
proposed Kittimac Repository Site. We discussed the need and desired scope for this proposal
with Mr. John Ferguson, Colorado Goldfields during our June 2, 2011 telephone conversation.
We are available to prepare a set of proposals based on the desired exploration as we discussed
during our May 12, 2011 meeting with you and Mr. Ferguson as this process continues.
BRIEF PROJECT DESCRIPTION
We understand that the current use for the budgetary information presented in this proposal is
for bonding purposes. The proposal below outlines drill rig and crew mobilization and de-
mobilization costs, drilling and sampling costs, grout-closure of the boring and laboratory testing
of three (3) select soil samples obtained from the boring. We understand that the project
geotechnical engineer desires SPT sample from the borings for this site at five (5) foot intervals
from the boring. The laboratory testing needs for he borings at the site can be modified as the
project progresses.
The scope of service we discussed is presented below.
FIELD STUDY
¦ We plan to use our truck mounted drilling equipment to perform our field exploration.
¦ We will advance One (1) auger test borings on the project site.
¦ SPT tests will be performed in the test boring at intervals of five (5) feet.
¦ The subsurface information obtained during the field study will be included in our report.
¦ Select soil samples will be obtained and returned to our laboratory for testing.
We will contact the utility notification service if necessary to identify and locate subsurface
utilities. Many private and site specific utilities will not be located by the various public utility
service companies since these are private lines. There are private utility location services
649 TECH CENTER DRIVE SUITE A • DURANGO, CO 81301 - 970/259-5095 • FAX 970/382-2515
