1. The PAP presently contains no information (other than some map depictions) describing
the proposed Equipment Corridor connecting the NH North Mine with the NH 2 Mine
permit area. Please revise the PAP to include a general discussion and specific details
regarding construction of the corridor, including the proposed crossing of Tuttle Draw.
Item 6 in Section 2.05.3(3), below, requests a map showing the plan and profile.
Response -A discussion of the equipment corridor has been added. Map 2.05.3(3)-4 in
Section 2.05.3 shows the plan and profile.
2. The Introduction to Section 2.05.2 gives the total disturbance area as 265.1 acres, which
contradicts the 286-acre figure provided by the Introduction to Section 2.05.3. Please
correct one (or both) of these references to be consistent and accurate.
Response - The correct figure is 286 acres. A correction has been made in the text.
3. On Map 2.05.2-1 (and others), the permit boundary is shown using a heavy line. This
serves to obscure pertinent details such as the four County Roads, the right-of-way
fences, and other topographic details. Please revise the line weights, as appropriate, to
clearly portray the proposed permit boundary, disturbed area boundaries, County Road
rights-of-way, and other features.
Response - Line weights in Map 2.05.2-1 have been revised for clear portrayal of
various boundaries.
4. Map 2.05.2-1 shows the general areas expected to be mined in a given year. It would be
useful to include also a depiction of the individual cuts or pits, as currently shown on
Map 2.05.3(6)(a)-1 (Blast Notification). Please incorporate the individual cuts or pits
into Map 2.05.2-1 (or another map, as appropriate).
Response - Individual cuts are now shown in Map 2.05.2-1.
5. Proposed locations for two stockpiles are shown on Map 2.05.2-1. The western stockpile
is identified as "Boxcut Overburden". This would seem to be a misnomer, as mining at
the NHN Mine will commence at the highwall left by NH1 operations. Please rename
this stockpile to be simply "Overburden".
Response - Map 2.05.2-1 has been revised to "Overburden Stockpile".
6. Please incorporate a legend and ensure that all features are identified by symbol.
Response - Map 2.05.2-1 now includes a legend.
2.05.3 - Operation Plan - Permit Area
1. The second paragraph of the Introduction to this section discusses WFC's request to
incorporate the NH1 permit area into the NHN permit area. Please refer the reader to the
detailed narrative located elsewhere in the permit and requested by the Division under
Section 2.04.3 of Part 1 of the adequacy review.
Response to First Adequacy Review Page 29
