00
RECEIV
JUN 0 2 2011
Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety
To: Colorado Department of Reclamation Mining Safety. M-0
Comments to: May Day Idaho Mine Complex, File# 14-1981-185.
I and my wife have resided at 5038 CR 124 LaPlata County for 15 years, we are 100' north of the
Idaho properties. Both properties are located in the California Mining district.
When we purchased our property we were well aware of our surrounding's and the mining activity
around us! I was as matter of fact offered a job at the Tippy Canoe, unfortunately the CO. decided not to
run that year because of low market values, The May Day also was in the shutdown process, the Incas
Mine pushed ahead with pilot operations and I was able to secure some part time employment there.
There was and is numeurs claims that where and still active.
I am concerned that the that the permitting process has become so regulated that we have lost our
rights to mine essential minerals that are in demand for this tec. Society we find our self's in. Together I
believe we can make small operations like this not only work but thrive. For the most part I believe that
people want to make an honest living. This brings me to the past actions of the previous president and
operator of the Wildcat mining Corporation. In the past 5 years I watched as Wildcat self-destructed
and left a wake of distrust and destruction in its path giving area miners a bad reputation they don't
deserve. Whatever their motives were they sure did not include the surrounding environment,
neighbors ect,ect,ect.
When the new Management group contacted us, I was on the skeptic side for sure As time pasted
and a little research I believe that the new Wildcat is more in line with my own morels, openness,
honesty, truth, and a desire to make an honest living. I would like to work for a Company like that. Lord
knows this economy needs all the help it can get.
I truly believe that this and other Colorado communities can mine needed resources cleaner and
better than anywhere else on the Planet and to it in balance with our surrounding's.
Thank you for your efforts on this matter!
Gary Gibbon
