May 25, 2011 C- 1992 - 080 /Carbon Junction Mine MLT <br />northern slope, uphill of where the impoundment once was, is infested with Canada thistle <br />(Photo 5). Additional Canada thistle rosettes were observed around the perimeter of the <br />willows in the former pond bottom. <br />• Scotch thistles, some larger than the rosette stage, are scattered along the former access to <br />Sediment Pond 2 that crosses the Carbon Junction fill (Photo 6)and on the lower slope <br />immediately north of the willows and cottonwoods. <br />• Numerous Musk thistle were observed along the southern flank of the "previously reclaimed <br />spoil area ". <br />Weed control efforts should be undertaken in the near- future, in accordance with the permit <br />and the rules. <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 8 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3 Page 3 of 7 <br />
