May 24, 2011 C-1981-033Bear Mine JJD <br /> The reclaimed road that led to the former fan site was stable and well vegetated.The reclaimed fan site <br /> also was stable. <br /> REVEGETATION—Rule 4.15❑❑Vegetative Cover;Timing: <br /> The operator recently sprayed for noxious weeds at the reclaimed mine site.The vegetative cover on the <br /> disturbed areas on the hillside was good to very good.However,on the flat facilities area,cheat grass has <br /> established itself and needs to be dealt with.Also,the former mine office area has yet to be seeded. <br /> SLIDES and DAMAGE -Rule 4.12: <br /> The backfilled portal area on the west side of the hill continues to show slope stability problems. Other <br /> portions of the disturbed area appear to be stable,in spite of the recent rains. <br /> SUPPORT FACILITIES -Rule 4.04: <br /> The bridge over the North Fork of the Gunnison River was passable. <br /> SIGNS AND MARKERS—Rule 4.02: <br /> The mine identification sign was on its post at the top of the hill and contained the required mine <br /> information.The records location sign was also up on its post.
