May 11, 2011 Page 10
below. In both situations, ground and aquifer contamination may be caused due to seepage of
water from the disposal pit.
4.6 4 Surface Water Disposal Pit Damage Mitigation Plan
In case monitoring indicates onset of damage or potential for damage to the water
disposal pits, the following mitigation plan should be adopted.
• Appropriate personnel at mine and regulatory authorities, as well as the owner(s) of the
water disposal pit, should be informed in case anomalies are observed that may indicate
an affected pit.
• The mining plan should be re- evaluated to ensure that operations will not further damage
the water disposal pit in question.
4.7 Solar Panels /Scada Antennas
4.7.1 Solar Panels /Scada Antennas Subsidence Control Plan
Solar panels and Scada tower /antennas were classified as transmission towers that are
less than 50 in (164 ft) tall. This is a very conservative assumption. It is anticipated that these
structures can be undermined using development -only workings without impacting them. Given
the anticipated range of cover depths and width of entries and crosscuts, it is highly unlikely that
any perceptible surface deformation will occur. However, surface owner(s) should be notified
prior to commencement of room and pillar operations under these installations.
4.7.2 Solar Panels /Scada Antennas Monitoring Plan
plan:
To ensure that the control plan is effective, AAI recommends the following monitoring
• The solar panel and Scada tower owner(s) should be informed as mining approaches.
• Due to the low probability of perceptible surface deformation, no direct monitoring is
required. Structural anomalies reported by the surface owner(s) will be investigated.
4.7.3 Worst Possible Consequences of Damage to Solar Panels /Scada Antennas
Any damage to these structures would likely involve disruption of power, and/or
communication.
4.7.4 Solar Panels /Scada Antennas Damage Mitigation Plan
In case indications of damage or potential for damage are detected, the following
mitigation plan should be adopted.
• Appropriate personnel at mine and regulatory authorities should be informed.
Agapito Associates, Inc.
