March 14, 2011 C-1982-056/Foidel Creek Mine JDM <br /> -The culvert at the intersection of the explosives area access road was damaged at the inlet. <br /> GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLANCE: <br /> Concrete pumping underground continues at the borehole pad. Jerry Nettleton of TCC stated that this permitted <br /> activity would continue until—mid-June. Electrical contractors were on-site to continue the electrical work in <br /> order o utilize the 6RT thickener borehole. <br /> OTHER(SPECIFY): <br /> This was a complete coal inspection of the Foidel Creek Mine conducted by Jason Musick of CDRMS. Brian <br /> Watterson of TCC accompanied the inspection. The weather was cloudy and raining during the inspection. The <br /> mine site was wet. <br /> PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES—Rule 4.10 and 4.11 <br /> Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br /> Refuse material continues to be placed in the RDA expansion area. Material has been stockpiled at the toe of the <br /> RDA expansion area with grading being conducted during the inspection. No problems were noted, with the <br /> exception of the following: <br /> - Gully erosion was observed on the east side slope of the RDA. This erosion should be addressed to ensure <br /> stability of the pile. <br /> ROADS—Rule 4.03;Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3);Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4);Surfacing and <br /> Maintenance4.03.1(5) and(6)/4.03.2(5)and(6)Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br /> The 6NM, 18LT, and Fish Creek Borehole access roads were wet at the time of the inspection. Access roads were <br /> stable and in good condition at the time of the inspection. Main facilities roads were extremely muddy and wet. <br /> All roads were stable with the exception of the following: <br /> -Run-off was flowing down the middle of the access road north of Trudy's corner leading to the Topsoil piles <br /> rather than in the established roadside ditches. Proper diversion will need to be re-established to ensure runoff is <br /> directed into the ditches. <br /> RECLAMATION SUCCESS: <br /> The 18RT reclamation and the vent shaft.reclamation were stable with initial vegetation growth observed. Both <br /> sites were stable with no evidence of erosion noted. <br /> SIGNS AND MARKERS—Rule 4.02: <br /> All mine identification signs, topsoil markers, stream buffer signs, and disturbed area markers observed were in <br /> the correct location and displayed the required information.
