May 23, 2011 C-2009-087/Peabody Sage Creek Mine JDM <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br />On site facilities areas appeared stable at the time of the inspection. No new permitted facilities have been <br />constructed as of this inspection. <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS - Rule 4.02: <br />Mine ID signs were in place at the require locations along County Road 27, 27A, and 51. The mine ID signs <br />displayed all required information with the exception of the following: <br />- the permittee is listed as Peabody Sage Creek Mine where as the sign reads as Sage Creek Mine. This should be <br />corrected to read the correct title. <br />Disturbance boundary markers and stream buffer zone markers are in place. It is noted that the disturbance <br />boundary markers delineate the area of re-disturbance and not the entire area of approved disturbance. <br />TOPSOIL - Rule 4.06 El []Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; <br />Redistribution 4.06.4: <br />This inspection served as a OSM special focus inspection for topsoil stripping and storage. The only topsoil <br />striping activities being conducted at the site was windrowing of topsoil for the east side Haul Road A ditch.
