Observed test pit excavated at STA 39+50, 40 ft. O.C., 8 ft deep. GS observed very slow (<1 gal) water <br />charge -8 ft down and rising, but pit was closed prior to equilibrium of water table. Three new test pits <br />were excavated at the end of the day at STA 60+00, 70+00, and 39+50. All three were excavated between 8 <br />ft and 10 ft deep through clayey overburden down to sandy/gravel stratum. <br />2. Al of Compass informs GS of silty mud/muck excavated from irrigation ditch adjacent to and on proposed <br />centerline of slurry wall excavation between STA 38+50 4 39+50. Silty mud/muck was excavated <br />approximately 4 ft to 5 ft deep and 4 ft wide and then backfilled with clayey overburden for stability of <br />' excavator. <br />3. 1415 hrs, excavator bucket shank broke, excavation activities halted until repair. <br />4. Square footage from set completed on this date documented as part of square footage on 4/4/08. <br />5.
