2011 Annual Report
Grisenti Farms Pit
M-2001-005
Continental Materials (Castle Concrete Company)
Anniversary Date: May 27
Overview of Permit Year. During the 2010/2011 operating year there was very little activity at the pit and
mining did take place however it was at a reduced volume base on economic conditions. During the period
encompassing the last six months of the 2010 year, no production took place. The west side mining was
completed and the pit has been back-sloped and seeded on 100% of the area. Sales of material have been almost
entirely out of existing stockpiles.
Annual Report Map: Affected land is illustrated on the attached map and a total of 57.5 acres had been
affected.
Reclamation: Reclamation work progressed at the west pit with back-sloping and seeding taking place on
approximately 100% of the pit and was completed in 2010.
Work Anticipated in 2010/2011 It is anticipated that this pit will see very limited production in the coming
year based on current economic conditions. The anticipated production period looks like three to four months
at best and this should take place in the second and third quarters of the year. Only screening of cobble
material is likely to take place early in the production cycle with the crusher and wash plant operating after the
pit has been dewatered. The original 8.2 acres in Phase 2 will be completed in 2011 and a new area adjoing the
existing 8.2 acres will be mined in 2011 and early 2012. This area is 4.8 acres. Weed control will continue
within the permit area.
Bonding. This operation is covered under a financial warranty corporate surety arrangement provided by
Westchester Fire Insurance Company..
Continental Materials 2010-2011 Annual Report M-2001-005 Grisenti Farms Pit Page 1 of 1
