(Page 3)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1984-014
INSPECTION DATE: 9-23-10
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS GRM
The previous inspection notes that some erosion or sedimentation issues were observed. Cotter was installing some
stormwater culverts to divert run-on collected on the main road into the new dump area. Other previous structures appear
to still be maintaining some storm water collection capabilities. However, the old stormwater plan approved in 1994 does
not address the new road and dump area and does not meet the requirements of the mine DMO requirements. A storm
water control plan meeting the requirements of the required Environmental Protection Plan (EPP) must be submitted.
Due to the fact that the stormwater plan is an important part of an EPP this issue is covered with the requirement of an EPP
submission.
The financial warranty for this site was last updated in 2002. It does not take into account the new dump area and access
road as well as the expanded old dump area. A bond reclamation estimate will be required as part of the EPP review. DRMS
staff will do an interim update to take into account the exisiting new conditions and a full review within the EPP review
process.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Russ Means at the Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety,
Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone no. 970-241-1117.
Inspection Contact:
Glenn Williams
Cotter Corporation
P.O.
