Schwartzwalder Mine 2 23 May 2010 <br />TR-18 Adequacy Review File No. M-1977-300 <br />10) Provide a map that depicts the mining reclamation permit boundary in relation to the <br />proposed diversion structures. <br />11) The Operator should commit to installing some type of metering or other means with which <br />to measure the flow entering or exiting the pipe. <br />12) Describe the procedure that would be followed if the pipe should need repair after <br />installation. <br />13) The Division requires more details for the purpose of verifying/calculating the financial <br />warranty. Please provide the following: <br />A) The basis for the provided estimate of $1,429,000. <br />B) Engineering design drawings of all structures requiring construction, including the <br />cutoff walls, creek intake, headgate, trash grate, overflow weir, stilling basin, etc. <br />C) Estimated amounts of earthwork excavation required for placement of the pipe and <br />location of earth to be removed. <br />D) A description of preparatory activities, such as construction of temporary coffer dams, <br />dewatering, temporary water storage and water disposal <br />E) Anticipated revegetation needed after removal of diversion structures. <br />14) Please commit to providing copies of permit-related correspondence with other agencies on <br />matters related to storm water (WQCD), construction dewatering discharge (WQCD), hazardous <br />materials and waste management (HMWMD), Section 404 (USACE), and grading, erosion, and <br />sediment control (Jefferson Co.). <br />Be advised that the decision date for consideration of TR-18 is 9 June 2011, and the adequacy <br />issues described above must be addressed by that date or an extension must be requested by the <br />Operator.
