The cooperative initiatives undertaken by both parties during that time have in my <br />opinion greatly enhanced habitat availability, quality, public access to hunting/fishing and youth <br />involvement, not to mention positive effects upon local wildlife. <br />Expanding mining operations into the Collom Expansion Area provides both parties with an <br />opportunity to address/minimize/mitigate the inevitable impacts this action will have on local <br />wildlife populations, in addition to all the previous pre-disturbance mitigation efforts already in <br />place and continuing in the Axial Basin area. <br />Colowyo would like to provide direct responses to each of the recommendations presented in <br />your February 15, 2011 letter to CDRMS in the context of the discussions entered into at your <br />Meeker office on April 29, 2011. <br />As discussed, the disturbance footprint previously provided to your group has been reduced to <br />eliminate the disturbance of approximately 212 acres of predominately sagebrush steppe in the <br />Little Collom X Pit area (lower elevation, predominately sagebrush steppe dominated plant <br />community) so the impact area descriptions identified in the first two pages of your letter would <br />no longer be completely accurate. Colowyo will provide you with an updated proposed <br />disturbance boundary for your records so you can update your official determination of habitat <br />impacts. <br />In order to assist in your review of Colowyo's response to your suggested mitigation comments., <br />the relevant headings and bullet points (abbreviated where appropriate) you generated were
