sandstone occurs. If a decision is made to quarry the sandstone, then this reclamation
plan will be revised to reclaim the quarry area.
Contemporaneous reclamation includes the following activities:
1. Removal of the stockpiled sandstone from the TRAA runway improvement project
through the processing operation; and
2. Staging of stone processing waste material along the northern permit boundary.
The proposed post mining contours for the processing area are shown on the revised Exhibit F -
Reclamation Map. The calculations to determine the depth of topsoil to remove and the topsoil
stockpile and stone waste storage areas are also attached.
The post mining contours have been added to the Reclamation Map. The stone processing waste
material available is:
Estimated Stockpile Volume - 50,000 cu. yds.
Historic Reject % 40
Stone Processing Waste Volume - 20,000 cu. yds.
The post mining contours assume no quarrying will occur after all the stockpiled stone is
processed. The post mining contours will be revised as part of a permit revision if a decision is
made to quarry the Dakota sandstone after the stone processing is completed. The revised
Exhibit E is attached.
Item 5 Exhibit F - Reclamation Map, Rule 6.4.6
The reclamation map has been revised to show the stone processing waste material and topsoil
stockpile areas and the proposed post processing contours. The revised exhibit is attached.
Item 6 Exhibit I - Soils Information, Rule 6.4.9
The information on the soil depth has been removed and a reference to Exhibit E for topsoil
depth present added. The NRCS soils maps are meant to depict regional trends for soil
classifications. Since local variations can occur from those reported in the soil study, TSC
elected to dig soil test pits to determine the amount of topsoil present. These values are used in
the reclamation plan and exceed those reported in the NRCS soil study. The revised Exhibit I is
attached.
Item 7 Exhibit J - Vegetation Information, Rule 6.4.10
The weed control plan has been revised to state "treated per the Weed Control Plan in Exhibit D
Mine Plan."
The revised Exhibit J is attached.
Item 8 Exhibit L - Reclamation Costs, Rule 6.4.12
TSC has no comment on the reclamation bond cost and the potential for a different amount at
this time. TSC will respond with alternate ways to reclaim the site when the Division's bond
estimate is completed.
complex world } CLEAR SOLUTIONS
3
