Pineda <br />Director <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, <br />Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on May 20, 2011, an application to renew an <br />existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at Edna Strip Mine was considered complete for the purposes of <br />filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the <br />Rules initiate from this date of filing. <br />Chevron Mining, Inc. has applied for a permit renewal (RN6) for the Edna Mine. The mine is a reclaimed surface <br />mine on land located approximately 5 miles Northwest of Oak Creek, Colorado. The permittee has previously <br />applied for final (Phase IR) bond release for the remaining portions of the mine. No additional mining is proposed <br />for this permit term. The applicant is only proposing maintaining the current reclamation. The permit area is <br />further described as follows: <br />T5N, R85W, Portions of Sections 31, 32 <br />T5N, R86W, Portions of Section 36 <br />T4N, R86W, Portions of Sections 12, 13, 14, 23, 24, 25 <br />T4N, R85W, Portions of Sections 7, 8, 17, 18, 19, 29, 30 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Cow Creek. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Routt County Commissioners, 136 6th <br />Street, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477.
