MAINTENANCE TIPS: Fertilizing: Apply 5 lbs. / 1000 sq. ft. of 16-20-0
fertilizer with 15% sulfur (ammonium phosphate sulfate) at the time of
seeding. Reapply once per year in the spring until the soil is well protected
with grass. Do not over fertilize. Excess fertilizer will wash away and can
pollute downstream water resources.
4. TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT USE: Re-vegetation can be a temporary
or permanent BMP.
Re-vegetation: 1) Slopes constructed at >2:1 can be hand seeded and mulched. 2)
Slopes constructed at 2:1 to IZ/wl must be hydroseeded/hydromulched. 3) Slopes
constructed at 1'/2:1 to 11/4:1 must be hydroseeded/hydromulched and have
erosion control blankets installed. Permanent soil stabilization measures shall
be installed within thirty days after final grade is reached. If construction is
completed during winter months, planting should occur within the next window
of opportunity. Silt fence or brush barrier to be installed on downhill side of
excavation.
3
