Using an electronic water level indicator, I determined
the well to be approximately 26.2 feet in depth with less than a foot of water in the well. Using a
one dimensional unconfined flow equation the estimated drawdown at the well from mine
dewatering activities is estimated to vary between 14 and 15 feet. The normal depth to water in
this area usually varies between 5 and 15 feet. If the natural depth to water was 10 feet then
mine dewatering could lower the water table to below the pump intake.
CGRS monitors over 1,400 groundwater monitoring wells within the State of Colorado. We have
observed that over the past two years the water table in the Greeley area has dropped by over
five feet, which would exacerbate the current situation.
If you have any questions regarding this letter, please contact me at 970-493-7780.
Sincerely,
CGRS, Inc.

Joby L.
