Applicant's Response: <br />• The scales on the maps have been corrected. Please see attached replacement pages. <br />2. The Pre-Mining and Mining Plan Maps show that the permit boundary encompasses 232 <br />acres and the affected area encompasses 157 acres. However, the permit application states the <br />permit area is 110 acres. In addition, the letter from McLaughlin Engineers dated October 22, <br />2010, states the affected area will encompass 110 acres. Please clarify this discrepancy and <br />specify the number of acres to be included in the permit area and the affected area and make <br />changes to the exhibits as necessary. The division recommends the permit boundary and the <br />boundary of affected land correspond to one another. <br />Applicant's Response: <br />These errors have been corrected. Please see attached replacement pages <br />3. The Applicant has stated on-site processing of mined material will include crushing and <br />screening. The Pre Mining and Mining Plan Maps identify the 100 year floodplain for Bullhead <br />Gulch. The division could not locate Bullhead Gulch on an aerial photograph of the area. <br />Please specify the location of Bullhead Gulch. <br />Applicant's Response: <br />Bullhead Gulch does not have a defined channel adjacent the project area. In the event of <br />flooding, flows would spread out and follow the low contours of the land in the area. The limits <br />of the 100-yr floodplain have been provided on the maps. <br />6.4.4 Exhibit D - Mining Plan <br />5. The Applicant has stated a SPPC (sic) plan will be developed and implemented. Will fuel <br />be stored on Site? If so please identify the location of fuel tanks on the Mining Plan Map and <br />describe the secondary containment measures to be used. <br />Applicant's Response: <br />This issue has been clarified. Please see the attached page <br />6. The Applicant has stated the pit slopes will be mined to final grade as mining approaches <br />the slurry wall.
