Itein 16 and 17
Revised 1127/2011
DRMS Quest #2
15. Significant, valuable and permanent man-made structures:
• The site does contain significant, valuable and permanent man-made structures as defined
by the Minerals Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board
for the Extraction of Construction Materials. Attached Exhibit S lists structures and
structure owners. Given the number or permanent and man-made structures, only those
not owned or controlled by the City of Lafayette are shown on the Pre-mining Map.
However all such structures are listed in Exhibit S.
16. Acres permitted:
This application is a request to permit parcels of land under an 112c Regular Operations
permit for an open pit mineral extraction and construction aggregates processing facility.
Goose Haven. Reservoir No. 2 Pit and the adjacent overburden stockpiles, ROADS AND
PROCESSING FACILITIES ARE PROPOSED TO BE APPROXIMATELY 232.0 ACRES.
17. Acres affected:
The proposed affected acres, including areas for construction aggregate extraction,
processing facilities, stockpiles, roads, employee parking, scale houses, pit dewatering,
WILL BE THE SAME AS THE PERMITTED ACRES. The Operation is planned to be conducted
in phases. (Please see the attached Exhibit "C" Mining Plan Map.)
• 18. Proposed hours of operation:
The proposed hours of operation are from Sunrise to Sunset, Monday through Saturday,
year round. The operation will likely be closed for all major holidays and Sundays.
However, in emergencies, such as floods or fire fighting, the operation may need to be
open outside normally scheduled business hours.
19. Estimated life of the operation:
The estimated life of the Operation is difficult to predict. However, if the market demand
for the product is in the range of 90,000 to 110,000 tons per year over the life of the mine,
the mine could be expected to be in operation for up to 29 years. This estimate may vary
due to market demand and therefore the Operation could run longer.
20. The number of operational employees:
The main shift employees will be between 3 to 10 people depending upon the time of
year, the number of orders and the production schedule that will be needed to meet
market demand.
0
