It gets a bit complicated at New Horizon for the irrigated pasture areas,
because they currently have a technical standard for cover, but they want to get the reference area approved to use for
both cover and production in the future (likely via a technical revision to be submitted fairly soon)..
For a number of reasons, it would probably be cleaner and simpler for all involved, if it were agreed that, for the purposes
of the areas you are planning to sample this month, for the Phase 2 release to be submitted later this year or next year,
the reclaimed area cover data would be compared against the current technical standard. In this case, there would be no
need to sample cover in the reference area at this time. You will probably need to discuss this matter with Ross Gubka
and/or Greg Lewicki to clarify what they are thinking, and then adress the issue of how the cover success standard
comparison will be made in an amended sampling plan.
I will copy this email to Sandy (my supervisor in Denver), to get her input,
Let me know if you have any questions.
Clan
