be abandoned. Access for the industrial park located north and east of the pit area will be
provided using the new access.
Revised Mining plan
There is not much detail in the mining plan from the original 112 Mining Permit Application.
The major change will be the mining phases. As shown in Exhibit C, mining will occur in the
New Pit Area (area in orange) starting along the line that shows the existing mining face. This
mining face is shown in more detail on the attached mining plan figure (Map D). The adjacent
new pit area (approximately square area shown in lime green and located north of the present
mining area shown in orange) will be used as a stockpile area until enough areas has been mined
in the southern new pit area (Orange area) to allow stockpiling.
As shown in the mining plan figure (Map D), mining will occur along the western face of the
gravel deposit and move in a counter clock wise direction initially to the southeast and then
swing around and finish by mining the northern portion of the deposit. The area will be mined at
a 2:1 slope around the edges of the pit which is consistent with the surrounding conditions. It is
difficult to provide a mining time table since the amount of material removed is dependent on
uncertain economic conditions. We anticipate that there is 25 years of gravel reserves at the site.
Revised Reclamation Plan
There will be several changes to the reclamation plan based on the limited mining area resulting
from the land removed for the conservation easement. Reclamation will begin immediately in
the area shown in gray on Exhibit C. The landowner has requested that a pond be installed as
shown on the attached reclamation map-also located in the gray area on Exhibit C. The pond
was designed by the NRCS. Water rights for the proposed pond are included in this technical
revision.
Table 1: Reclamation Time Table (refer to Exhibit C for location)
Area to be Reclaimed Acreage Expected date to
Begin Completion Date
Gray Colored Area 17 2011 2013
Teal Colored Area East
Side of Slate River 40 2011 2013
New Pit Area Lime
Green 5 2014 2016
New Pit Area Orange 18 2015 2036
