Hickenlooper
Governor
Mike King
Executive Director
Loretta E. Pineda
Director
The Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety has received additional information for United's request
for an acreage reduction to the Rozman Pit permit. The request will remove Tract 1 with 146.8 acres of
undisturbed lands from the permit area. A revision to the mining and reclamation plans, and permit
area configuration is being addressed through TR-06 currently under review.
Per Rule 4.17, the Division has 60 days to inspect the lands. The decision date for this revision therefore
is technically July 5, 2011 provided all issues are addressed. A site inspection has been scheduled for
May 18, 2011 to verify that no mine related disturbances have occurred and to discuss TR-06. For
clarification, if the lands are undisturbed, staff can issue a decision on the release after the inspection
date. However, the release would not be officially approved until the 30 day decision appeal timeframe
is met.
If you need additional information please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety,
Grand Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, or by telephone
no. 970.241.1117.
Sincerely,
G.
