If a <br />Possible Violation is indicated, you will be notified under separate cover as to when the Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board will consider possible enforcement action. <br />INSPECTION TOPIC: Signs & Markers <br />PROBLEM/POSSIBLE VIOLATION: Problem: The affected area boundary markers are missing or <br />incorrectly placed This is a problem for failure to maintain boundary markers around the affected area as <br />required by Section 3.1.12(2) of the Rule. <br />-CORRECTIVE ACTIONS: The Operator shall conduct a-survey and lase•the- boundary markers in the <br />correct location(s). The Operator shall provide proof to the Diviston that thus has been one by the correctly <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION DUE DATE: 1/10/11 <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />The Van Valkenburg Gravel Pit, File No. M-2005-003, was inspected by Peter Hays with the Division of <br />Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division). Mr. William Van Valkenburg, permittee and landowner, was <br />notified of the inspection but was not present during the inspection. <br />As noted during the previous inspection, Lafarge was contract muting the site for the Highway 14 resurfacing <br />project. The paving project is complete and reclamation of the Lafarge mining activity has started. The asphalt <br />plant remains in the northeast end of the site. Mr. Van Valkenburg stated the plant will remain at the site until <br />
