Pineda <br />Director <br />RE: Twentymile Coal Company, Permit C-82-056 <br />March 2011 Discharge Monitoring Report Review (Permit COG-0027154 and Permit <br />COG-073534) <br />Dear Mr. Watterson, <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (CDRMS) has reviewed and found the <br />above referenced reports to be in compliance with Rule 4.05.13(2). The March 2011 Discharge <br />Monitoring Reports for the above referenced CDPS Permits were received by the Division on 03 May <br />2011; the reports cover the time period from 01 March 2011 through 31 March 2011. <br />Permit CO-0027154 - During the month of March outfalls 005A/MON5/005W (Pond D), 003A (Pond <br />B), and 008A (Pond G) flowed. No other outfalls flowed during the month. Exceedances were noted <br />at 005A for TSS and iron. <br />Permit COG-073534 - The construction associated with Outfall 001A (Foidel Creek Pipeline <br />Crossing) discharged during the month of February 2011. Exceedances for TSS maximum and 30 day <br />average were noted during the month. <br />It is noted that based on a Memorandum of Understanding between the Division of Reclamation, <br />Mining and Safety and the Water Quality Control Division (WQCD), the WQCD will be responsible <br />for enforcing CDPS permit conditions including exceedances of TSS and iron. <br />If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
