COMMENTS
This was a partial inspection of the Yoast Mine based on aerial photographs of the site taken April 27, 2011. The
photographs were taken by Harry Ranney of DRMS, and reviewed by Susan Burgmaier in the DRMS Denver
office on May 2,2011. Weather conditions for the flight were partly cloudy. A light dusting of snow covered the
area. Ponds 012,013, and 014 and portions of the reclaimed South Pit area were all photographed.

Ponds 012,013, and 014 all held water; it was not apparent whether any of the ponds were discharging.
SLIDES and DAMAGE -Rule 4.12:
A new area of instability has developed just northeast of Pond 014, and slides have reoccurred east of
Pond 014 and on the North and east sides of Pond 012. The areas are described in detail in the Division's
inspection report for the April 25, 2011 site inspection.
TOPSOIL—Rule 4.060❑Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3;
Redistribution 4.06.4:
Rills were apparent in the newly distributed topsoil just east of Pond 012 and also east of Pond 012A;
when conditions allow the rills will need to be repaired.
