Weather conditions for the flight were partly cloudy. Most of the snow from the
previous day had melted, but upper areas of the mine remain covered in snow.
Ponds 006,016A and 017,the facilities area, the A and B Pits in the Original Permit Area, the Ridgeline Access
Road, and South Pit areas were all photographed.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.0511[]Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5,
4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10;Diversions 4.05.4;Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water
Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13;Drainage—Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8;
Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
Ponds 006,016A,and 017 held water, but it was not apparent whether any of the ponds were discharging.
Ponds 016A and 017 were still partially frozen. Most of the pit areas were still snow covered, with only small
areas of south facing slopes melted off, so it did not look like major runoff from snowmelt was yet underway.
SLIDES and DAMAGE -Rule 4.12:
A small slump was observed on the northeast side of the reclamation, south of the site of Topsoil
Stockpile AAA and northeast of the shrub enclosure. The extent of the slump and whether any damage outside of
the disturbance boundary had occurred were not immediately apparent. When conditions allow, this area will be
more closely inspected. The previously identified Pond 016/016A slide area was still covered in snow; it was not
apparent whether any additional movement had occurred in the area.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 8
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3
Page 2 of 8
