The bond release application was submitted by Honeywood Coal Company on November 2, 2009. <br />SL-2 requests Phase 11 release for 86.8 acres which were topsoiled and seeded in 1992 and 1993. Phase I <br />bond release, for successful completion of backfilling, grading and drainage control, was granted in 1994. The <br />Division has found that vegetation has been established which supports the approved postmining land use of <br />rangeland and wildlife habitat; that topsoil replacement and vegetative cover are in accordance with the permit; <br />and that the area does not contribute suspended solids to streamflow in excess of adjacent non-mined areas. <br />The Division currently holds a performance bond of $447,281.00 and proposes to release $381,366.00. The <br />affected area is located in Montrose County, approximately 3 miles Southeast of Naturita, Colorado. <br />Copies of the proposed decision are available for review at the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and <br />Safety office, 1313 Sherman Street; Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203, and at the office of the Montrose <br />County Courthouse Nucla Annex. <br />Any person who has an interest which is or may be adversely affected may request an adjudicatory hearing <br />regarding this proposed decision.
